Fisher Hill Reservoir

Two parcels of land on Fisher Hill in Brookline are under consideration as potential locations for affordable housing, as well as active and passive recreational use. One parcel is a 10-acre site with an unused reservoir, which is currently owned by the MWRA; and the other is a 5-acre site with an unused cistern owned by the Town.

Recently, the Town presented a potential plan for the re-use of these sites, which was led by an outside consulting firm, with input from the neighborhood and the Fisher Hill Master Planning committee. Most of the alternative scenarios recommend that the 10-acre site be used as open space for passive and active recreation, including a regulation-sized soccer field and additional passive park features. The disposition of the Town’s 5-acre property is still under discussion but proposed scenarios recommend a certain amount of both affordable and market-rate housing.
