Green Umbrella Grants
Through its Green Umbrella program, the Brookline GreenSpace Alliance supports many of the park friends groups that are working to care for their neighborhood parks. Below is a brief summary of these services. To learn more, contact us at 617-277-4777 or info@brooklinegreenspace.org
Neighborhood Initiatives for Parks
We provide financial support of $500 or less to our member organizations,
through our small grants program of Neighborhood Initiatives for Parks.
The program is designed to encourage citizen initiative and stewardship
in local parks, school grounds, median triangles, street tree lawns and
conservation areas throughout Town.
Fiscal Agent Services
We also act as fiscal agent for those member organizations raising money
for their activities. Our fiscal umbrella allows member organizations
to receive the tax advantages of a 501c(3) organization without having
to formally incorporate as one.
